Hi guys
Since I last emailed I\'ve been doing quite a lot of riding at local MX
tracks. Rode one day with Jamie Dobb. He is riding a CRF 250 this year, he
looked good on the bike, pretty fast and smooth.
I helped Paul Edmondson run one of his training days. I talked to a guy
in the group who is going to NZ soon to do a guided ride with Grenville
Button in the South Island. I told him how good the riding was at home and
how nice the weather is. I got him really keen!
Went practicing in Wales as well last week. The same area as the ISDE in `82
I think. Eddy showed me where the park ferme was and where they had this
test called a speed test. It was a straight drag race, where it tested how
fast you could accelerate.
Also have done two more MX events. One was a sandy, muddy track. Was a
quite cool layout with some nice jumps. I won overall and the guy in 2nd
was a former long jump champion, his record being 253 feet.
The other MX was a two day event. It was a fast, rocky track with square
jump faces. These jumps took a bit of getting used to. Stuart Flockhart won,
he\'s a good GP rider. McKenzie was 2nd, he\'s a top national rider. I was
3rd, having a couple of good battles with McKenzie.
Went riding at a track yesterday and Josh was there with the Cas Honda
squad. It was cool to catch up and watch him cutting some quick laps.
Looking forward to Scotty Brooker coming over. He\'s a friend of mine from
home and is going to be my mechanic and outrider. It will be good to have
another familiar face here this year.
Leaving for Spain in two days to do a Spanish Championship. Now we enter
the business part of the season
Later
