Honda Press Release

The flying Castrol Honda CBR600 road bikes of Shaun Harris and Ray Clee grabbed the limelight in the Battle of the Streets at Paeroa at the weekend.

The flying red, green and white machines dominated their own class and threw a cat among the pigeons in the outright section as well, as the street circuit provided its usual close dicing.

With a start-to-finish victory against the racing bikes in Formula Two\'s first event Harris, 30-year-old from New Plymouth, wrapped up that title and did not need to ride the second leg.

Aucklander Clee, 28, pressured Harris throughout the first leg and cruised to third place in the next.

The pair renewed their battle in the 600 Sports Production, Clee grabbing first and second in the two legs as Harris took top placing to successfully defend the title he won last year.

As if that wasn\'t tiring enough in the hot conditions, the 600s were back on the streets of the eastern town to tackle the big bikes in Formula Paeroa.

Clee snapped at the heels of open class champ Jason McEwen all the way, prompting the Kawasaki rider to comment that he knew someone was there but was startled to see it was a midweight bike.

Clee, who left his mighty Castrol Honda superbike in the pits in favour of the sweet 600, nabbed second spot ahead of several big bikes.
