Superbike star Aaron Slight is now out of immediate danger after brain surgery on Friday.
The 34-year-old expat Kiwi racer is out of intensive care at his Sydney private hospital and doctors expect him to begin the long road to recovery.
Slight is still groggy and very uncomfortable after the four and a half hour operation to remove a blood clot from his brain. But the medical specialists say he is through the worst.
It will be some days before they can assess precisely his current state of health and begin to map out his path to recovery.
