The Castrol Honda team has announced that Colin Edwards and Aaron Slight will remain with the team after both agreed terms and have re-signed, for the year 2000 season.
Both will race the new Honda VTR SP1 in the 2000 World Superbike championship, in Honda\'s official, two-man team.
Slight, who joined Castrol Honda for the 1994 season, is looking forward to the new challenge with the new factory machine.
\"I rode the VTR at the start of the year in Australia and I\'m confident both Colin and myself can challenge for the 2000 world title,\" said Slight.
He continued: \"This will be my seventh year with Honda in the World Superbike championship and hopefully I can finally win the title I\'ve worked so hard for.\"
For Edwards the year 2000 season will be his third on a factory Honda and the 25-year-old Texan is confident it will be third time lucky.
He said: \"I finished fifth last year, hopefully I can get second this year and go on to win the title in 2000. The new machine will be a new challenge for everyone in the team but it\'s also a challenge everyone is very much looking forward to.\"
Team manager Neil Tuxworth commented: \"To re-sign Aaron and Colin is great news for us. We need as much experience as possible for next year with the new VTR and it\'s good news that both riders are staying loyal to Honda.\"
