Yamaha NZ:Press release:
Subway Yamaha rider Damien King was the star of the day at the prestigious Valley Motocross Championships south of Auckland. The event attracted over 300 riders from all around New Zealand. The day was sunny and track conditions were tacky and bumpy which gave the spectators fast and close racing. King rode in two classes and blitzed the entire National 125cc field in all three 20 minute races.
He ended up in 2nd place behind NZ and World Supercross round winner Daryl Hurley in the 500cc class. " What a incredible day, I am worn out tonight but so happy to win this race. My Subway Yamaha machines ran superbly and allowed me pass any rider. I am training harder than I ever have and it is really paying off" King said.
Team manager Darryll King was on hand to give his younger brother his support and he was more than pleased with Damien's performance. " It was neat to see Damien riding this well, he has so much talent and hopefully he can step up this year and win lots of races" DK said.

"I had my leg out of plaster last week and hope to have my first official practice ride this week. My goal is to race at the Auckland motocross championships on March 6th and hold a MXDK motocross training school at the same venue on March 13th. From there I have a long season ahead, hopefully I can be back up to speed within a few weeks and win a championship or two" DK said.
