Rider training Facility Comes to NZ:

It's the perfect partnership -- Yamaha and DECA (the Driver Education Centre of Australia) -- and now it’s happening in New Zealand.

Yamaha has been quick to appreciate the benefit of having an educated riding community and the company is keen to foster their relationship with DECA and now Yamaha NZ: see it as an ideal way to serve that biking community extremely well.

“It's a relationship we've been keen to build on,” said Yamaha New Zealand's Peter Payne. “Our bike dealers throughout the country are all fully involved, right behind the concept.”
It certainly adds value to the purchase of what are already very good motorcycles and enables Yamaha customers to get the most out of their motorcycling experience.

DECA offers training for first-time bike owners through to experienced riders, individuals perhaps returning to two-wheeled transport after a few years away, who know the basics but merely want to brush up their skills.
“We get people who, at a later stage in their lives, want to invest in that big road tourer they perhaps couldn't afford years earlier, riders who are keen to re-join the motorcycling community after some time away. Our job is to ease their pathway back,” said DECA New Zealand managing director Stu Stubbs.
And, in this day and age when there are increasing numbers of road users, many of them in cars, trucks and vans, Mr Stubbs said it was important to know your stuff.

Yamaha provides the motorcycles used by DECA's demonstrators, the XVS250: DECA Training in New Zealand has its head office and training centre in East Tamaki in Manukau City (South Auckland).

Fully accredited by all relevant authorities, DECA Training offers a wide range of training and assessment services that cater for the needs of the New Zealand market. Training conducted complies with unit standards and is conducted with trainers who are LTSA licensed driver instructors and NZQA accredited tutors.
