Not Love(ly) Weather at Teretonga:

Fickle weather and high winds played its hand at Teretonga this weekend during round two of the Motorcycle Trader & News NZ Road Race championship.
While Castrol Honda Red Riders Superbike racer Jared Love finished seventh in Saturday’s race one, his team-mate Dean Fulton got the holeshot, lead for the first lap and managed to stay close to the lead pack of Andrew Stroud (Suzuki GSXR1000), Tony Rees (Yamaha R1) and Bruce Anstey (GSXR1000), who finished in that order.

Love went on to finish 6th and 14th on Sunday in testing stop-start heavy rain and cold conditions, hampered by incorrect tyre choices. “In the last race I ran wet tyres and was up to fourth, behind Dean (Fulton), but I wrecked my tyres as the track part-dried,” Love said.

Following two meetings held in poor weather, Love is really looking forward to competing at Wanganui’s historic Cemetery Circuit in two weeks time, on Boxing Day. In round one of the Battle of the Streets.
