Vehicle ACC Levy Rise

The government look set to substantially increase the ACC levy part of the vehicle registration fees despite the fact that the ACC motor vehicle account having more than $260 million in reserves. The reason for the hike is enable compitition for road injury compensation. This strikes me as being rather strange when the supposed purpose of compitition is to keep prices down! I guess this is another triumph of idealogy over common sense.
The increase in the fee for cars may be upto $52.50. you can bet that the increase for motorbikes will be more.
