A.F.C Adventue Ride

from Peter Palmer...

Yes, 26 people made this one of our largest adventure rides of recent times an we were blessed with a fine day. The ride was to take us around the Manawatu's back roads and an 'Off' section on a local farm.

The KTM range was certainly on display, with 6 different models turning up. From a 300 EXC (2 stroke), LC4 (400), to a brand new 640 LC4 and Brendan Tootell from AFC on the flagship model, the new 950 V Twin Adventure Bike.

Bryn arrived from Wanganui on a 'Blutiful' 640 LC4 Adventure model, which was borrowed from a friend. This bike was in good hands s Bryn has a reputation for having immaculat bikes and gear.

The farm section had to be redirected aqs a result of very heavy recent rain, but it worked ou well, as every rider was able to ride the course. Scott's road was up and back, 11 kms of great metal roads and great views of mountain to sea.

Don was on hand as usual with his digits and digital camera.

Lunch in Shannon and then it was on to the Mangahao Dam Road, 17 kms of winding metal road with a special look-out for looney drivers practising their car-rally skills.

The weather was kind to us and the company was great.

Thanks to the Tootell family for their support with land etc and look forward to the next ride in July.
