WEC Round 5 In Sweden:

The weather is fine and sunny 25degrees!! Enduro 1 are the last group to leave the start line with Enduro 3 being the first group away. Stef will be pleased to not have to face mud and hopefully the weather will stay fine. Special tests are virtually the same as last year, although the enduro test is a little more difficult with more forest this time.

There is no extreme test, unfortunately for Stef who excells in these stages due to his trials background.

Unofficial results have just come to hand although I have no details yet.
In Enduro class 1 Stefan won all the special stages for the day

Enduro 1 Day one.
1 Merriman
2 Oblucki +47
3 Silvan +79
4 Rinaldi +85
5 Larsson +99
6 Albergoni +101

Enduro 2
1 Salminen
2 Salonen +72
3 Toresson +88
4 Vilonova +108
5 Botturi +108.5
(one missing from this list is Paul Edmondson, unsure at this stage what happened to him)

Enduro 3
1 Aro
2 Knight +25
3 Tarkkala +25.5
4 Ahola +35
5 Cervantes +45

Overall for Day one showed (with the exception of Salminen) the Enduro 3 riders taking the top podium spots,

Overall Day 1
1 Salminen
2 Aro +23.37
3 Knight +48
4 Tarkkala +49.19
5 Ahola +58.22
6 Merriman +1.07.49

Oblucki in 13th place was the next of Enduro 1 riders and then Silvan in 2oth which shows the course did not suit Enduro 1 machines or their start position was detrimental for the day.

Paul Whibley finished in 18th overall.

Will update more as news comes to hand.
Regards Anita
