Watts wins National Hare Scramble Round 4 - Oregon

Team KTM Offroad racer Shane Watts raced to a convincing victory on the weekend at Round 4 of the AMA National Hare Scramble Championship, held in Elkton, Oregon.

Watts got off to a great second placed start on his KTM 200EXC and quickly moved into the lead by the end of the first grass track section, holding that position for most of the first lap until he crashed on a slick spot, dropping back to third. It wasn\'t long before Watts had moved back into the lead position of the six lap race.

\"I was feeling great out on the track and really enjoying it. Conditions were absolutely perfect. Woodford made a charge on the fourth lap so I let him lead and just tagged along behind him seeing what his pace was and where I was faster than him. I was content just to follow him and pass him in the final mile, but my bike was so fast out there that I just couldn\'t hold back any longer, so I just opened it up towards the end of the fifth lap and roosted onto an easy victory.\"

\"This venue is so unreal. It has the best mix of flowing single track, awesome grass tracks, and fast fire roads. This race is one of the best if not the best race of the year. This is my kind of race. I am so pumped. Yeah!!!\"

The next race on Watts\' schedule is the Moose Run, round 3 of the OMA series this coming weekend (June 6) in Morrison, Illinios.
