Coppins strengthens British MX championship lead.

New Zealander, Josh Coppins has won both motos at the third round of the Maxis British MX championship at Waggadon Farm in Torrington, UK.

The CAS Honda rider, out qualified the competition by at least four seconds in the morning’s timed session. Coppins went on to race a superb first moto by grabbing the hole-shot and leading the race from start to finish, winning with a twenty second gap over second place rival, James Noble.

“I felt great this morning and showed my speed in timed practice. I’ve been working on my starts lately and managed to grab the hole-shot. I rode my own race and it was great to win with no pressure” said Coppins

“Lizzard” created a carbon copy of race one when he shot out of the start gate first, for the final and deciding race of the day. The blazing kiwi showed no mercy for his contenders as he again worked his factory Honda into a comfortable lead. Coppins was never challenged as he crossed the finish line, this time thirty seconds ahead.

“My starts were great and I’ve the bike was working really well today. I liked the track and my riding just seemed to flow today. I couldn’t have asked for a better result” smiled the Kiwi.

Coppins now leads the Maxis British MX championship by sixteen points.
