Kiwis @ A4DE #5

Posted: Sun 18 Apr 2004

Have not had any updates from the Kiwis competing the 2004 \'Wild Dog\' Yamaha A4DE at Warragul, Victoria. So I guess they are up to their ears in it.

The good news is that the team is still intact going into day 4.

Day 3 of the Yamaha \'Wild Dog\' Australian Four Day Enduro dawned bleak, cold and cloudy with rain hinting in the air. The 305 kilometer loop saw riders travel through picturesque settings with weather that ranged from horizontal rain to sunshine in a matter of minutes.
The rain was most welcome however as it settled the dust that has been plaguing the riders over the past two days. This onslaught of rain also made the trails more difficult as pavement became extremely slick and muddy hills began to take their tolls on the riders and their bikes.

The latest update and results (including the overall positions) for day 3 on the Official Site: indicates the following:

Class 1: Up to 200cc Two Stroke
6th - Chris Power, Honda CR125,

Class 2: Over 220cc Two Stroke
6th - Chris Birch, KTM 250.
22nd - Karl Power, Honda CR250.

Class 3: Up to 250cc Four Stroke
21st - Sean Clarke, Suzuki RMZ 250.

Class 4: 270cc- 450cc Four Stroke
6th - Mark Whyte, Suzuki DRZ 400.
15th - Shaun Prescott, KTM 450.

Day 4 begins tomorrow with 100 kilometers of trail time followed by the riders impounding their bikes in a compound to await the final moto held at Lardner Park approximately 20 kilometers outside of Warragul.
