Blue Wing Honda Ltd. - Media Release:

Here comes the CRF250X the trail blazer and enduro ace ready to beat them all. Just as trick as its partner the CRF250R motocrosser, the CRF250X is set to be the new king of the trails.

The new Honda CRF250X comes with the best feature yet-effortless electric start. Twist the throttle and hit the trails and get ready for high flying berm busting excitement of the specially tuned performance thrusting 250cc 4-stroke engine that is the CRF250X.

Like the CRF250R, the CRF250X incorporates a new-generation four-stroke Unicam(R) single-cylinder engine, one designed to run at speeds in excess of 12,000 rpm. Like the motocrosser, the 250X engine is also cradled within a new, fourth-generation aluminum frame equipped with top-drawer suspension and chassis components. No corners have been cut here; in fact, extra R&D effort was spent in retuning the entire chassis to suit off-road needs virtually to perfection. In like manner, the engine faithfully follows CRF-R architecture, but the 250X incorporates modifications that make it even better suited to serious off-road work.

”The CRF250X is going to be the ultimate trail blazing machine for 2004. Simply put, Honda’s CRF250X defines state of the art four-stroke technology, along with cutting edge performance to match,” says Clive Cooper-Smith, General Manager of Blue Wing Honda.

Large, 240mm disc brakes have been mounted front and rear, with a dual-piston caliper up front. All new fourth-generation twin spar aluminium frame is derived from Honda’s CR® series. 18-inch rear wheels feature HRC works-type lightweight aluminum spoke nipples help reduce unsprung weight.

Other Team Honda-inspired touches include a durable Renthal handlebar, a quick-adjust clutch perch for easy adjustments, and newly designed plastic bodywork for a more aggressive look plus lighter weight, just like the all impressive CRF250R. The list of trick bits just keeps going on and on.

This is it. This is the ultimate trail busting machine! It’s sure to be a winner… Discover what the CRF250X is made of at your local Honda dealer soon, expected arrival is April 2004. A recommended retail price of $12,250 incl gst has been set.
