NEW ZEALAND MOTOCROSS GRAND PRIX WITH AN ASIAN CONNECTION:

The 43rd Woodville Motocross will again host the annual Blue Wing Honda New Zealand International Motocross Grand Prix on January 23-25, 2004. This year\'s event features visiting Asian motocross riders experiencing a pre-run of the 2005 Asian - Pacific International Championship to be held at the same venue next year.

New Zealand\'s finest motocross riders including formerWorld Champion and current Grand Prix title holder - Shayne King, Cody Cooper and Daryl King will be joined with Asian\'s 2003 Motocross Champion Glen Aguilar (Philippines) and runner-up Tadakazu (Teddy) Ohtsuka (Japan) to battle it out for Honda Demon Dirt Dealer Grand Prix National and Gough\'s Cat International honors on Sunday. Also included in the visiting team is junior rider Kenneth San Andres (Philippines) who will feature on the Saturday in the Kawasaki 13-16 year old 85cc Grand Prix Championship class.

This major event attracts over 700 riders who entertain spectator crowds in excess of 5,000. The economic impact on the local regions of Tararua and Manawatu is enormous. This will certainly be increased in 2005 with the fast approaching Asian - Pacific International event. With International TV coverage of the event being televised to countries across Asia and Europe this event offers excellent coverage for enterprises looking for exposure in these regions.

The weekend kicks off on the Friday afternoon with junior qualifying for the over subscribed junior classes. This will feature Philippines\' rider Kenneth San Andres along with a long list of local and national junior riders.

Saturday sees the Grand Prix Mini classes (ages 4-12) competing on their separate purpose built track, while the Kawasaki Junior Grand Prix and senior support riders battle it out on the main track, which this year features a stunning new jump.

Sunday promises to deliver plenty of excitement with the big boys on the track in Grand Prix classes as well as the FAT 50\'s demo and Celebrity Race, and the well known crowd pleaser - the Tararua - Explore the Elements River Races.

Mix this all together with Tui Hill Garden Bar and a great selection of food outlet stalls, the 2004 Woodville Motocross event promises something for everyone.
