The 2004 Telefonica Dakar rally started when 195 bikes, 142 cars, 63 trucks left the start line at the Grande Halle d’Auvergne yesterday (January 1). Added to 195 assistance vehicles, close to 600 vehicles took off from the Auvergne area heading to Narbonne.
