From Tim Gibbes:

Sorry, my newsletters are becoming rare nowadays, however the action in motorcyclesport continues.

For those of you who would like to read my observations of where motorcyclesport is at the moment, & where I see it heading by looking into a crystal ball, I have written an article which is now posted on www.motorcyclesport.co.nz under \"Hot off the Press\"
Your comments are welcome and you can make them more public by writing them on the same site under \"Visitors Bits\" then to \"On Line Talk\", where you\'ll find \"Discussion Threads\" where you can add your piece.

Coming up is the 5 round Victoria MCC Sawyer Motorcycles Road Race Series, all at Manfeild, first event being May 24th then continuing until November.

The 4 round New Zealand Senior Moto Cross Championships commence at Amberley near Christchurch on July 20th, continuing until November, at venues by Kapi-Mana, Huntly & Pukekohe.

- For race by race results of any event that I have timed with my AMB \"Track Timing\" gear since last November, look on the website www.mylaps.com where there are motor racing (MX, m/c road racing, Karts, cars, trucks, jet skis, snowmobiles, ice racing, etc.) results from AMB timed events all around the world, of course including NZ.

For those of you who are very old & rusty, you might remember George Hauger, the German rider who came here to ride our first full International \"Gold Leaf Motocross Series\" in 1964. Well George died a couple of weeks ago at his home in Germany.
That year our overseas stars were Arthur Harris for UK, with whom I maintain regular contact & Max Morf - the \"mad Swiss\" who I haven\'t heard from since 1965.
George rode a 250cc WABEHA, which was a cross between a Maico & Montesa. However until his own bike arrived, he had to ride my 250 Greeves 24MDS. Always a spectacle when an angry German rode the British bike with right side gear change, left side brake & \"rubber band suspension\". George\'s only words of English were \"bloody Greeves\"!

Another recent death was Colin Lister from Nelson. Probably better known outside of New Zealand, Colin was a brilliant engineer who designed several single, V-Twin & multi cylinder engines as well as specialising in cylinder head design.

Perhaps someone knew him better & can give us more details of his illustrious career.
