Tim Curr`s Team Reports:

CLOSE BUT NOT CLOSE ENOUGH:

Well qualifying is over and unfortunately Tim was just short of the mark. Tim`s best lap time was 1min 50.6 sec. To qualify he needed 1min 49.6 sec. but in the 36 deg heat, the lap times he did obtain were pretty good.

Tim got the holeshot in every race and was up there with the leaders. In the last chance qualifying Tim lead for 1/2 a lap before the bike washed out from underneath him at the bottom of a steep hill. He remounted to gain 18th place and was 30 sec behind the rest of the field (but that`s racing for you)

The fastest time was posted by D. Guarani on a Yamaha 125 from Italy, with a blistering 1min 42.2 sec lap. The fastest 80cc was 1min46.7sec and thus would have qualified 6th in the 125cc class.

NZ placing\'s in the 125cc class were:
Jake Boyd 26th
Tim Curr 46th
Jessie Wiki 54th
Seadon Baker 58th
So the NZ boys didn\'t do to badly out of the 58 starters in qualifying.

The top Euro riders are extremely fit, fast and acclimatised (36 deg yesterday). Tim and Noel are now going back to their base in Germany for 3 days of practise and testing with the MoBu team before heading to Czechoslovakia for racing next weekend.

Cheers
Sally
