Bayliss on his Infostrada Ducati got a perfect start to the 2001 season, taking both wins. Haga brought his Aprilia into 2nd place again, this time followed by Edwards Castrol Honda – this year running as a one man effort, and Bostrom took forth place.

My two bobs worth
It\'s good to see the boys are back and the return of Haga is great from my point of view. He is a favourite of mine, and with a riding style similar to Ben Bostrom, we can expect to see plenty of rubber left in the corners.The field this year appears to lack a certain ammount of depth, and team Castrol Honda are taking a big gamble in running only one bike - we all know how quickly a fall can end a career in this sport. But there is exciting racing to come. Bring it on
